Although l'm a hardcore saltwater angler now, my roots are planted in bass fishing. Growing up from Elementary school through high school, I spent nearly all of my free time riding my bike around the golf course fishing all of the retention ponds for bass. It taught me many lessons that I incorporate into my fishing style today. Eventually I got a kayak and started teaching myself how to fish the tidal creeks for redfish and trout, which remains one of my favorite things to do. l've spent thousands of hours learning the salt marsh and chasing redfish through super skinny water. These days, l'm fishing out of a Beavertail Vengeance (an 18 foot poling skiff). It's perfect for what I do. It is just small enough to comfortably push pole in the flats but remains enough boat to venture along the beach for tarpon and kingfish.
